For many years “Anything that Floats” was the biggest event of Spring in Mechanicville and in the surrounding area. In conjunction with our 50th anniversary, the Mechanicville Area Community Services Center is bringing back “Anything That Floats”.
Anything That Floats is an opportunity for your class to build a vessel that will float for about ¼ of a mile on the Anthony Kill. This event immediately follows the annual White Water Derby which is a longer race composed of kayaks and canoes. There is a full complement of fireman and first responders throughout the route of Anything That Floats.
We are reaching out to invite you, your classmates, your best friends, arch rivals, small businesses, family members or neighbors to join us! Celebrate spring, help support MACSC, and, most importantly, win a fabulous trophy complete with bragging rights and be featured in a special edition of The Express Newspaper. Awards will be given out for creativity and most seaworthy. Bonus points for incorporation of the MACSC Logo into your design!
Enclosed, please find general guidelines, waiver forms and an initial registration form. Cost is $20 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are $25 and include recognition on signage and in The Express. Deadline for entry is April 1, 2019, no joke J.
We will gladly answer any questions, and hope to see you rocking “Anything That Floats!” Feel free to call or email Megan at 518.664.8322 ext1004, mquillinan@mechanicvilleacsc.org, or, Tom Mahoney at The Express Newspaper, 518.664.3335, ads.expressnewspaper@gmail.com.
