Southern Saratoga County Business Climate

There has never been a better time to do business in New York State and specifically, the Southern Saratoga Region. In what has become popularly and very appropriately known as New York's Tech Valley, our area has quickly earned the honor of being a world-class technology center that fosters innovative ideas and pioneers programs focused on bringing the most technologically advanced products to market.

The Chamber partners with the following organizations to achieve our mission of creating success for a strong community.

Ballston Spa Business & Professional Assoc. - The Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association is a group of businesses and individuals working together to make Ballston Spa a great place to work, live and visit. The association works in conjunction with Village government and other groups to enhance our community.

The Business Council of New York State - The Business Council of New York State, Inc., is the largest business organization in New York State, representing the interests of large and small firms throughout the state. Its membership is made up of thousands of member companies, as well as local chambers of commerce and professional and trade associations.

 Center for Economic Growth - The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) is a private, not-for-profit, membership based economic and business development organization committed to visionary, regional economic expansion throughout New York State's Capital Region and Tech Valley, a region of more than 1.1 million residents.

Empire Zone - New York State’s Empire Zone program was created to stimulate economic growth through a variety of tax incentives designed to attract new businesses to New York and to enable existing businesses to expand and create more jobs.

Job Service Employer Committee - JSEC opens lines of communication between Labor Department and the employer community, provides a vehicle to inform employers of the services and programs of the Labor Department and let employers know how they can benefit from them, provide expert information to employers on issues that affect the business community, and effect beneficial legislative changes at state and federal levels. 

Luther Forest Technology Campus - The Luther Forest Technology Campus is a beautiful, secluded, environmentally friendly location in which people can work and relax in a forest setting. With more than 60 percent of the1,350 acre campus representing "green space," the site has been environmentally pre-approved and designed specifically for nanotechnology manufacturing, research and development.

Malta Business & Professional Association - The MBPA has over 120 members, including retailers, industrial, cultural, professional, non-profit and civic leaders. Members have joined together to promote and advance the designed growth of the Town of Malta.

SCORE is composed of 10,500 volunteer business mentors, both working and retired, who counsel businesses from 389 chapter offices throughout the country. SCORE volunteers hail from every facet of the business community. Some have worked at large corporations such as Kodak, Xerox, Boeing and General Electric. Some have served in our military or worked for the local or federal government. Others have spent years cultivating their own small business.

Saratoga Economic Development Corp - The Saratoga Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is a private sector, not-for-profit consulting firm established in 1978 that works to create jobs and increase the tax base while improving the quality of life for the residents of Saratoga County, NY.  This mission is accomplished by retaining existing businesses while attracting new ones.

Small Business Development Center - Through a network of 24 regional centers, the New York State Small Business Development Center delivers high quality business counseling and training to New Yorkers who want to start a business or improve the performance of an existing business. Thanks to our partners in the public and private sectors, their services are free of charge.

 As a member in the Tech Valley Chamber Coalition, The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County represent your interests as a Saratoga County business in emerging Tech Valley initiatives.

Tech Valley Global Business Network - is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit collaboration of five area business membership organizations dedicated to providing education and networking opportunities for expanding international trade in New York's Tech Valley. GBN is open to any member of the Albany-Colonie, Rensselaer, Schenectady and Southern Saratoga Chambers of Commerce.

University at Albany -School of Business Weekend MBA Program - The AACSB-accredited School of Business is very proud to offer the Weekend program.  The unique structure and distinctive students make this program very special within the University community.  The students are in a cohort with other professionals from various backgrounds with a variety of work and life experience and the cohort members learn and grow in new and interesting ways each year. Classes meet in the Chamber's Executive Education Center.
