Maximize Your Chamber Investment - Become a Key Chamber Volunteer

Our Chamber offers a number of no cost opportunities for members to become actively involved in our key programs.  Members who serve on important committees deepen their networking relationships with other members, are better able to utilize Chamber programming, and are often in the position to jump on key opportunities.  Below is a list of committees currently seeking new members.  Attend a meeting to see if it's a good match for you and then start maximizing your investment! *Remember - any employees of Chamber members are eligible to participate on these committees! 45th Anniversary Committee - in 2012 the Chamber will be celebrating their 45th Anniversary.  Plans for this occasion are being coordinated by the 45th Anniversary Committee in cooperation with all of the other committees.  Committee Chair: Pauline Bartel, Bartel Communications. Chamber Angels - This group helps with the administration work of the Chamber's philantrophic program, Chamber Angels, which provides holiday gifts to over 350 less fortunate children and families in Southern Saratoga County. Committee on Small Business Resources - This committee's mission is to promote and encourage the expansion of business in Southern Saratoga County by facilitating and enhancing the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and sound business advice. Our goal is to carefully monitor the needs of our business community and provide relevant value-added business education programs in the form of presentations and workshops. Programs include the new StartUp Smart Program.  Meets monthly at 8:30 AM on the first Wednesday of each month. 2011 Committee Chair Barbara Wisnom, The Third Zone. Economic & Government Affairs Committee (EGAC) - This committee assists in attracting and developing prospective business to the region, and work to retain current or expanding businesses.  Address issues that impact our region, review government policies, and develop positions that have a positive effect on our business community and quality of life. Contact staff liasion, Pete Bardunias by email at pete@southernsaratoga.org or at 371-7748 for more information.

Education & Business Partnership - Creating linkages between business & education

Annual Awards Dinner Committee meets monthly from September- April to plan the Annual Awards Dinner. Members work on logistical tasks such as invitation design, silent auction item solicitation, decorations, centerpieces, entertainment, and sponsorships. 2012 Annual Awards Dinner Planning CommitteeChair - Gay Holtz, CDPHP & Silent Auction Coordinator - Christine King, Site Solutions Worldwide

Golf Tournament Committee - Responsibilities for this committee include: logistical planning, golfer, sponsorship, and raffle item solicitation. Meets monthly on the last Friday of the month at 8:30 AM at the Chamber Offices from September to June. 2012 Golf Tournament Planning Chair - Chris Frances - Capital Region Retirement Specialists 

Expo Committee - Responsibilities for this committee include: logistical planning, exhibitor and sponsorship solicitiation, and publicity.  Meets regularly as needed.  2012 Expo Committee Chair - Nancy Bardin, Clifton Park Rental Center

Marketing Advisory Committee - Assist the Chamber in overall public relations, media relations, and marketing of Chamber programs, services, mission and vision.

Membership/Ambassadors Committee - Develops programs & initiatives to attract, recruit,
mentor and retain members. Provide hospitality at events and help distribute welcome packets and plaques to new members. Act as advocates for the Chamber. This committee is limited to 12 individuals. Retail & Hospitality Council - This group addresses needs/concerns of our retail/hospitality members, develops programming that will help educate the public on our "Think. Buy. Local" campaign. 

Women in Business Committee (WIB) - This group is for women working in the Capital Region business community and beyond.  It provides an opportunity to develop personal and professional skills through networking, education and providing strategies for success. This committee also implements the Baskets of Hope Program.
